The Milk Maids favourite milkshake recipe

With all those maids, busy milking away, it would be rude not to put that healthy, calcium rich, milk to good use.

So why not, try making one of our favourite, festive milkshakes as an alternative alcohol free drink. There are a whole host of recipes to choose from.

Here is one of our favourites:

The Snickerdoodle milkshake

With a name like that who could resist! To make your Snickerdoodle milkshake you will need:

  • Cinnamon sugar, for edge of the plastic glass
  • 3 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1 snickerdoodle cookie, plus more for garnish
  • 1/2 c. whole milk
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

I know you are thinking what is a snickerdoodle cookie.

Well, we did have to look this one up too. Turns out, the snickerdoodle cookie could originate from Germany. The name is close to the German word Schneckennudeln ( meaning snail noodles).

Which has nothing to do with snails but is a kind of pastry. Which makes sense, as the snickerdoodle cookie is very light and crisp, with a similar texture to pastry. Or it could be completely made up. Either way we love it.

Anyway, back to the recipe. So to make your Festive Snickerdoodle Milkshake:

First, start by dipping the rim of one of our reusable cocktail tumbler glasses in water and then cinnamon sugar.

Next place the ice cream, snickerdoodle, milk, and cinnamon into a blender. Then blend until smooth. (For a thinner consistency add more milk.)

Finally, you are all set to enjoy your snickerdoodle. Just pour into your glass and garnish with some more crumbled snickerdoodles. Mmmm Milkalicious!
